77 percent of Russian banks made a profit in 2022

The Central Bank of Russia reported that the banking branch in the country closed 2022 with a profit of 203 billion rubles, despite extensive sanctions. According to the report, the rate of profit-making banks is 77 percent.

The report named “Banking sector development evaluation” was published by the Central Bank of Russia.

The report noted that the Russian banking division wasted 1.4 trillion rubles in the first half of 2022.

In the report, which included the information that the branch recovered in the second half of last year, it was noted that the Russian banking department closed 2022 with a profit of 203 billion rubles.

In the report, where it was stated that some banks in the country closed 2022 with significant loss, it was mentioned that the rate of profit-making banks was at the level of 77 percent.

The Russian banking branch made a profit of 2.4 trillion rubles in 2021.

While Western countries significantly restricted the access of the Russian banking department to the global financial system, they also removed many banks in the country from the SWIFT system.
