BOJ/Kuroda: There is a need for continuation of ultra-loose monetary policy

Bank of Japan Governor Harihuko Kuroda stressed the value of maintaining ultra-loose monetary policy to support companies to boost the economy and prices.

Speaking in the parliament, Bank of Japan Leader Harihuko Kuroda said that imported prices drive inflation in Japan, and that it will take time to achieve the goal of 2 percent price stability in a sustainable manner.

In his speech, Kuroda said, “The uncertainty regarding the Japanese economy is very high. Therefore, it is important to support the economy and create an environment where companies can increase prices.”
