The Ministry of Treasury and Finance announced the budget implementation results for December and January-December of 2022.
Accordingly, in December 2022, budget revenues increased by 96.7 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and rose to 255 billion 199 million liras. Budget expenses increased by 31.3 percent in a one-to-one period and reached 373 billion 816 million liras. Last month, the budget deficit was calculated as 118 billion 617 million liras.
In 2022, budget revenues increased by 99.9 percent compared to the previous year and reached 2 trillion 802 billion 355 million liras, and budget expenditures increased by 83.4 percent to 2 trillion 941 billion 420 million liras. Thus, the central government budget deficit decreased by 31 percent in 2022 compared to the previous year and was recorded as 139 billion 65 million liras.

While a primary deficit of 146 billion 47 million TL was recorded in December 2021, a primary deficit of 100 billion 371 million TL was recorded in 2022.
Central government budget expenditures, with the prestige of December, amounted to 373 billion 816 million TL. Interest expenditures were 18 billion 246 million TL and non-interest expenditures were 355 billion 570 million TL.
In December, 373 billion 816 million TL was spent from the 2 trillion 831 billion 472 million TL appropriation foreseen for the central government budget expenditures in 2022. In the same month of the previous year, 284 billion 717 million TL was spent.

Budget expenditures in December increased by 31.3 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. The realization rate of the expenditures compared to the budget appropriations was 21.2% in 2021, while it was 13.2% in 2022.
Budget expenditure excluding interest was 355.5 billion
Budget expenditures excluding interest increased by 28.9 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and amounted to 355 billion 570 million TL. While the realization rate of non-interest expenditures compared to budget appropriations was 23.6% in 2021, it became 14.2% in 2022.
With the prestige of December, central government budget revenues amounted to 255 billion 199 million TL. Tax revenues were 211 billion 514 million TL, and general budget non-tax revenues were 35 billion 620 million TL.
While the budget revenues were 129 billion 710 million TL in December 2021, it increased by 96.7 percent in the same month of 2022 and reached 255 billion 199 million TL.
According to the budget projection, the December realization rate of budget revenues was 11.8 percent in 2021, while it was 10 percent in 2022.
Tax revenues collection in December 2022 increased by 89.6 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and was recorded as 211 billion 514 million TL. The realization rate of tax revenues, according to the budget assumption, was 12.1% in 2021, while it was 9.7% in 2022.
