Consumer confidence at highest level since September 2021

According to TUIK data, the consumer belief index rose to the highest level since 2021 in January.

The Consumer Confidence Index, calculated from the results of the consumer tendency survey conducted in cooperation with the Turkish Statistical Institute and the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, increased by 4.6 percent in January compared to the previous month; The index, which was 75.6 in December, became 79.1 in January.

Consumer Confidence thus rose to its highest level since September 2021.

A consumer confidence index greater than 100 indicates an optimist state in consumer confidence, and a pessimistic state if it is less than 100.

The financial situation expectation of the household in the next 12-month period increased from 75.4 to 79.9, and the 12-month general economic situation expectation increased from 77.3 to 82.7.
