The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) made the largest investment in Turkey in 2022 among the countries in which it operates.
According to the statement made by the bank, 1.63 billion euros were invested in Turkey in 2022. Thus, Turkey became the market in which the bank invested the most for the third consecutive year.
The total investment made by the bank in Turkey to date has reached 17 billion euros and 85 percent of the investment has been made in the private branch.
Half of the investment made in Turkey in 2022 was realized within the framework of the bank’s ‘Green Economy Transformation’ and focused on a green, low carbon and strong economy.
EBRD Turkey Managing Director Arvid Tuerkner pointed out that while the volatility in global markets continues, the financing provided by the EBRD to Turkey is a valuable source of reinforcement for the private sector.
