The Energy Markets Regulatory Board (EMRA) decided to reimburse 10.2 billion liras as a result of the administrative investigation it initiated against 40 companies.

With the Board’s statement on its website, it was announced that a penalty of 10.2 billion lira was imposed at the end of the investigation launched due to false notifications made to the Power Market Operations Inc., either accidentally or intentionally.

It was reminded that the Maximum Settlement Price (AUF) mechanism was put into practice by the institution in order not to disrupt the security of supply in the country and to protect our consumers from these cost increases, especially in the recent months, in the incredible cost increases in international markets, It was underlined that no power plant was shut down and power supply security was not interrupted with the contribution of the AUF mechanism, which was implemented as of April 1, 2022 and extended for another 6 months in October.

In the statement, it was stated that the repayment order was sent to the related companies via “registered electronic mail” (KEP) on Friday, and it was stated that the administrative investigation regarding the companies in question would be carried out meticulously by the institution.
