Migros received a charging network operating license

Migros became the first retail company to receive a “Charging Network Operator License” with Migen Power, which it established to provide charging services to electric vehicles and contribute to the transformation of electric vehicles in Turkey.

According to the statement made by Migros, Migros aims to open its stations that provide charging services for electric vehicles in February.

Following the approval of the charging network operator license application made by Migen Energy, its subsidiary, to the Power Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) for the purpose of providing charging services for electric vehicles, Migros started to work to provide charging station services for electric vehicles at the locations where its stores are located.

Şevki Tuncer, Deputy General Manager of Investment Development and Construction of Migros Ticaret AŞ, whose views are included in the statement, stated that as Migros, contributing to sustainable power sources and leaving a livable environment for future generations are valuable topics.

Reminding that they decided to establish charging stations and that they established Migen Energy in the last months with 100% shareholding, Tuncer stated that they will rapidly expand this service throughout Turkey after the charging stations that will be put into service in Istanbul stores in the first stage. Tuncer added that they will start serving in more than 50 Migros stores in 19 provinces by the first half of the year.
