While Turkey wrote a budget deficit of 139.1 billion TL in 2022, the Minister of Treasury and Finance Nureddin Nebati said that the budget deficit was lower than his predictions.
Speaking in the 2022 Evaluation-2023 Goals program, Minister Nabati said about the budget performance, “Our budget deficit was only 139.1 billion liras throughout the year. Thus, we have a budget deficit of 139.3 billion liras lower than our budget projection and 322.1 billion liras lower than our MTP target. “We have closed the year. In addition, we gave a primary surplus of 171.8 billion liras in total. Our country managed to have a primary surplus again in 2022, after a 4-year absence,” he said.
Minister Nabati also stated that the decrease in inflation will continue in 2023.
Making evaluations on national income, Minister Nebati said that in 2023, per capita income will rise even more and exceed 12 thousand dollars.
He stated that they will continue to implement productivity-oriented tax policies that prioritize investment, employment, production and export for 2023.
Minister Nabati added that they are planning to issue green bonds for green, social and sustainable areas.
