New top step rule in BIST 100

In the statement made by Borsa Istanbul, it was announced that if the index falls by 3 percent or more, the upper step rule will be applied automatically until the end of the session in the process lines where short selling can be made.

It is stated that the decision was taken with the aim of reducing volatility. BIST 100 Index recovered in the last hour after losses of up to 5 percent during the day and closed the day at 4,752 points with an increase of 0.82 percent.

On January 11, an automatic upper pitch rule was introduced for short selling in shares with circuit-breakers.
