Russia’s Lukoil announces it will sell its refinery in Sicily

Russia’s second-largest oil producer, Lukoil, said on Monday that it has sold its ISAB oil refinery in Sicily to GOI Energy.

Russia’s second-largest oil producer, Lukoil, said on Monday that it has reached an agreement to sell its ISAB oil refinery in Sicily to GOIEnergy, which has a subsidiary with international trading company Trafigura.

Lukoil said that the process is planned to be completed by the end of March 2023, following the fulfillment of certain prerequisites, including obtaining the necessary approvals from the authorities, especially from the Italian government.

On the other hand, Lukoil noted that Trafigura provides an uninterrupted supply of raw materials to the refinery, providing the necessary level of working capital as well as the necessary input for production.
