Strategic partnership between France and Iraq

A strategic partnership agreement was signed in order to strengthen bilateral ties in the middle of France and Iraq.

French President Emmanuel Macron came to a meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia es-Sudani at the Elysee Palace in the capital city of Paris.

Within the scope of the visit, Macron and Sudani signed a strategic partnership agreement with the aim of strengthening bilateral relations and initiating comprehensive ties in various fields of cooperation.

Within the framework of the agreement, which includes interests based on the principle of equality in sovereignty and rights, it is envisaged to implement concrete projects in the political, military, security, intelligence, economic, commercial, cultural, environmental and scientific fields in order to strengthen the relations between France and Iraq.
