The first record of the year in renewable power came from the wind

Turkey’s electricity generation from wind energy reached an all-time high of 208,94 megawatt-hours on January 17.

According to the information compiled by AA from Turkey Electricity Transmission AŞ (TEİAŞ) data, a total of 909 thousand 446 megawatt-hours of electricity was produced in Turkey on January 17, 2023.

Imported coal power plants ranked first with a 26 percent share in production. This was followed by wind power plants with 22.9 percent and natural gas power plants with 15 percent.

Electricity generated from wind power in Turkey reached an all-time high with 208,94 megawatt-hours. The latest record in electricity generation from wind was recorded as 207,906 megawatt-hours on 12 December.

Daily consumption was 931 thousand 235 megawatt hours yesterday. The highest electricity consumption was realized at 12.00 with 44 thousand 559 megawatt hours, and the lowest consumption was at 05.00 with 30 thousand 878 megawatt hours.
