The US Department of Labor has released data on weekly unemployment benefits applications.
Accordingly, the number of people claiming unemployment benefits for the first time in the country decreased by 3 thousand to 183 thousand in the week ending January 28 compared to the previous week. Unemployment benefits, which fell to the lowest level since April 2022 by decreasing market expectations, were expected to be realized at the level of 195,000 in this period.
The previous week’s data on unemployment benefits applications was not revised and kept as 186,000.
On the other hand, the ongoing unemployment applications decreased by 11 thousand and fell to 1 million 655 thousand.
