According to the news of the UAE official agency WAM, UAE State Leader Pir Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, who is on an official visit to the country, at the Al-Watan Palace in the capital city Abu Dhabi.

During the meeting, it was reported that UAE State Leader Al Nahyan and Ethiopian Prime Minister Ahmed “discussed bilateral links and ways to develop these relations”.

Within the scope of the agreement signed in the middle of the UAE and Ethiopia, it was decided that the UAE’s renewable power company Masdar will establish a 500 megawatt solar power plant in Ethiopia in the first stage.

It is stated that the facilities to be built within the scope of the project are aimed to produce a total of 2 thousand megawatts of power.

It was also noted that Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Technology of the UAE, and Ahmed Shide, Minister of Finance of Ethiopia, received a copy of the signed memorandums.
