Volkswagen’s vehicle delivery fell 6.8 percent on chip burden

Volkswagen branded vehicle deliveries of the German automotive manufacturer Volkswagen Cluster decreased by 6.8 percent to 4.56 million last year, due to the continuation of the grievances experienced in chip supply.

Volkswagen Cluster, which includes Audi, Bugatti, Seat, Skoda and Porsche brands, announced the 2022 car delivery numbers of Volkswagen brand.

Accordingly, vehicle deliveries of the Volkswagen brand decreased by 6.8 percent in 2022 compared to the previous year and decreased to 4.56 million.

The German manufacturer’s battery-electric vehicle sales increased by 23.6% last year to 330 thousand.

It was noteworthy that the deliveries of battery electric vehicles in China, the largest sales market of the Wolfsburg-based company, increased by 102.9 percent.

Volkswagen also announced that it expects fluctuations in production and sales to continue in 2023 due to ongoing supply chain bottlenecks, with the situation gradually stabilizing throughout the year.
