Friends and family congratulating me for what I have accomplished extended my confidence.

They manifested on the regions of my belly, thighs, and undersides of my arms. First, I cancelled. Yes, I’m Witty and felt stressed about the situation. I had tried to do all I could to make my body look better, and this is the state I got: a new problem.

 Understanding Stretch Marks

Skin changes known as stretch marks are typical when there’s a diffusion in the size of the body. The skin, in particular, can become loose during physical slimming and has to adapt rapidly to the altered form of the human body. This causes the skin to stretch and develop marks on it, causing a skin change. One has to know that it is a normal occurrence– after all, stretch marks and weight loss are inextricably linked. They prove that your body has just been growing and is now transforming in every other aspect.

For the initial periods, I experienced shyness arising from having stretch mark scars. But now, I will accept these signs as my experience and move on. So, I understood they result from my efforts, and constant work towards improving my health status. Here are also some of the ways treatment can be done to have better results in eradicating stretch marks on the skin:

  • Stay Hydrated: This will make your skin moist and more elastic, especially when you drink a lot of water.
  • Moisturize Regularly: Applying cream or oil has vast benefits in that it softens the skin and makes stretch marks hard to see.
  • Healthy Diet: Consuming foods that contain Vitamins C and E, zinc and protein is one way of boosting skin health.

Acceptance and Beauty in Imperfections

While they might not look that great, stretch marks are proof that you have gone through a positive change. There might not be an immediate cure for them, but you can think of them as a medal– proof that you have successfully healthily lost weight, so wear those tiger stripes proudly and do not let anyone tell you otherwise! Also, acceptance is key to being more confident in yourself; they are not marks that you should not be proud of and are instead something that you can show off to the world– after all, there is nothing more beautiful than a person who is unapologetically themselves.

Stretch marks appear hand in hand with weight loss, and though it may feel seemingly uncomfortable or even shocking to come across these marks, we ought to know that they are all part of the procedure. Accept your body and the path that you have taken or are going through. Your stretch marks resulted from your tough work and the transformations that you registered in your body.
